  • 1 big bundle of watercress
  • 2 green apples or cucumber
  • 1 carrot
  • ½ cup of clean water
  • 1 lemon or pineapple

Method:

  1. Wash the watercress leaves and stems thoroughly to remove sands and dirt.
  2. Chop every ingredient except lemon into smaller pieces and load into a blender.
  3. Squeeze the lemon juice into a cup.
  4. Add the ½ cup of water and blend properly.
  5. Pass the contents through a fine sieve to separate the juice.
  6. Add the lemon juice (that is if pineapple is not around).
  7. Enjoy your watercress juice chilled or lukewarm.

Watercress Tea Recipe

Because watercress bioactive compounds have low temperature range compare to water, it is not advisable to let your water keep boiling throughout the process of tea making.

Ingredients:

  • A small bundle of watercress
  • A pineapple or orange
  • A little quantity of honey

Method:

  1. Heat water till it boils in a pot
  2. Reduce the temperature to 70oC
  3. Add your watercress and allow to simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes
  4. Pour the water in a cup and add your pineapple or orange juice.
